Our Staff

Victoria Corcoran Neal, Principal and Founder of Corcoran & Co., has created development and marketing plans that are sustainable, mission-based, and successful for more than 50 non-profit organizations. Before founding Corcoran & Co. in 2006, she served as Development Director for KMFA Classical 89.5 FM and the Texas Advocacy Project, which provides free legal services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. She also served as Program Director for the Texas Engineering Foundation. Victoria began her professional career as a private consultant and curator of 20th century and contemporary art, advising major private collectors, corporations, galleries, and more. She graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor’s degree in Art History.

Day Fariss is the Managing Partner at Corcoran & Co. After more than 20 years in the women’s fashion industry working as a national sales manager and account executive for such firms as Ellen Tracy and Teri Jon, she brings considerable experience in strategic planning, project management, prospect identification and cultivation, and team leadership to non-profit clients. She has served as the Interim Development Director for AMOA-Arthouse and the Austin Lyric Opera, and has helped Corcoran clients develop events, campaigns, data management systems, and more. Before joining the Corcoran team, Day served as Development Manager for Foundation Communities, an Austin-based organization that provides low-income housing and support services. Day graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism.

Julia Null Smith is a Senior Advisor for Corcoran & Co. with more than 20 years of experience helping organizations tell transformational stories. Before joining Corcoran, Julia served as Chief Communications Officer at the LIFT Alliance, a partnership between SafePlace and Austin Children’s Services. She also served as Director of Communications for the Texas Film Commission and Trinity Episcopal School, and as PR Specialist for the Texas Council on Family Violence. She has written for the Austin American-StatesmanTribezaAustin Chronicle and other publications, and has served on the boards of the Austin Library Foundation, People’s Community Clinic, SafePlace, and Planned Parenthood of Austin. Julia graduated Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s degree in English.

Stefania Tafuro is a Senior Advisor with 11 years’ experience in fundraising, business development, event planning, and public relations. Prior to joining Corcoran & Co, Stefania served as Assistant Director for Development at the UT-Austin Environmental Science Institute, Capital Campaign Manager at ZACH Theatre, and Outreach and Public Relations Manager at Castle Hill Fitness. Stefania is passionate about providing non-profits with creative and enduring fundraising solutions that foster stewardship, growth, and service. She began her professional career in the non-profit sector in Los Angeles, where she worked at the ACLU of Southern California, the California Women’s Law Center, and the Disability Rights Legal Center at Loyola Law School. Stefania is fluent in English, German, Italian, French, and Spanish. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Ph.D. in Public Policy from the Free University of Berlin, Germany and she holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Bologna, Italy, where she is originally from.

Strategic Counsel: Lyda Creus Molanphy is a strategy and communications specialist, with more than 20 years’ experience in business, strategy and public relations. She provides executive coaching and long-term business planning for Corcoran & Co, and for our clients when these needs arise.  She served as an executive for the Texas Dental Association and the Texas Dental Association Smiles Foundation, Vice President with Shipley & Associates, a national public affairs firm, and has served on the boards of several nonprofits.  Lyda is currently president of the Duke University Alumni Club of Austin.  She graduated from Duke University with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science.

Of Counsel: Jennifer Schell is a Senior Development Consultant with more than 14 years of experience in fundraising for non-profits in the Austin community and in Shanghai, China. Jennifer has served as the Director of Development and Communications for American Youthworks and Holy Family Catholic School. Before joining Corcoran, Jennifer was the Assistant Director of Admissions for Concordia International School Shanghai. While living in China, Jennifer continued to volunteer in her field, creating successful fundraising campaigns to increase support for vital operations and medical therapy for orphans in China. Jennifer has served on the Board of Directors for Holy Family Catholic School and the Junior League of Austin. Jennifer began her professional career in Trust Banking for Riggs National Bank in Washington, DC after receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Clemson University in South Carolina.

Of Counsel: Julia Campbell has more than six years of experience in special event management, project management, and fundraising consulting. On behalf of Corcoran clients, she has planned successful and unique events, managed strategic online campaigns, developed auctions, organized volunteers, and much more. Before joining the Corcoran team, Julia worked as a campaign associate at the United Way. She graduated from Hendrix College with a degree in International Relations.
