Victoria Corcoran, Principal and Founder of Corcoran & Co., has created development and marketing plans that are sustainable, mission-based, and successful for more than 50 nonprofit organizations. Before founding Corcoran & Co. in 2006, she served as Development Director for KMFA Classical 89.5 FM and the Texas Advocacy Project, which provides free legal services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. She also served as Program Director for the Texas Engineering Foundation. Victoria began her professional career as a private consultant and curator of 20th century and contemporary art, advising major private collectors, corporations, galleries, and more. She graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor’s degree in Art History.
Day Fariss is the Managing Partner at Corcoran & Co. Her market analysis and management skills were honed over a 20-year career in national-level management and sales for several high-profile fashion houses. Day then transitioned to nonprofit fundraising, including a tenure as Development Manager for Foundation Communities, an Austin-based organization that provides low-income housing and support services. With Corcoran & Co, Day served 18 months as Interim Development Director for The Contemporary Austin during the museum’s merger (between the former Austin Museum of Art and Arthouse) and through its transition to new executive leadership. She has provided interim services, assessments, strategic planning and counsel for Mission Capital, Special Olympics Texas, Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas, El Paso Museum of Art, Austin Habitat for Humanity, and many others. She graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism.
Julia Null Smith is a Senior Advisor for Corcoran & Co. with more than 20 years of experience helping organizations tell stories that connect with their audience. Before joining Corcoran in June 2015, she served as Chief Communications Officer for SAFE Austin, a merger of SafePlace and Austin Children’s Shelter. As Communications Director for Trinity Episcopal School, she developed a publication that won a Council for Advancement in Support of Education (CASE) Award. At Corcoran, she has helped El Buen Samaritano, People’s Community Clinic, the LBJ Foundation, and many more hone their messages and reach their audiences. Julia graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s degree in English.
Of Counsel: Stefania Tafuro is a Senior Advisor with 11 years’ experience in fundraising, business development, event planning, and public relations. Prior to joining Corcoran & Co, Stefania served as Assistant Director for Development at the UT-Austin Environmental Science Institute, Capital Campaign Manager at ZACH Theatre, and Outreach and Public Relations Manager at Castle Hill Fitness. Stefania is passionate about providing nonprofits with creative and enduring fundraising solutions that foster stewardship, growth, and service. She began her professional career in the nonprofit sector in Los Angeles, where she worked at the ACLU of Southern California, the California Women’s Law Center, and the Disability Rights Legal Center at Loyola Law School. Stefania is fluent in English, German, Italian, French, and Spanish. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Ph.D. in Public Policy from the Free University of Berlin, Germany and she holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Bologna, Italy, where she is originally from.
